The InvestiGators are at it again! This time they are untangling the mystery surrounding a captain who was found lost at sea without his ship. Mango and Brash set sail on the SeaDues II for $1 hoping to find out the mysterious whereabouts of the SeaDues I and all its passengers. A pirate attack helps Mango and Brash come closer to solving the mystery. They dress up as pirates hoping for leads on the first ship while saving themselves from the wrath of the pirates. What happened to all the ships’ passengers?
This title was sitting around my house for a while and I read it way back when, but it’s also been making the rounds with my children. Their eyes lit up when they saw another volume in the InvestiGators series was released. Even the teenager was seen reading it multiple times. (And yes you can read this again and again.)
The punny humor just doesn’t get old. And in my opinion, Green outdid himself in this issue. The humor is on another level and genuinely funny. Sometimes with puns, one might roll their eyes and give a little chuckle, but throughout this book, there were laugh-out-loud moments.
The upbeat artwork with bold and vivid colors adds many layers to the already humorous story. So don’t just pick up volume 7 of this series, but go back and read and re-read all of them.
